Christmas Piano Music

We don’t have a lot of Christmas piano music on this channel, but I thought it deserved its own section. Some people love Christmas music while others hate it – I personally quite enjoy it! The following are some Christmas tutorials featured on this channel.

Greensleeves wasn’t traditionally a Christmas piece, but it’s associated with the season now (especially in its adaptation What Child Is This). This tutorial is appropriate for relative beginners.

Here you’ll find an easier and more difficult version of Away in a Manger (or rather, a version with the notes all written out, and a version with chords).

Two versions of this fun piece, just like the above.

One of the versions featured here is written in Baroque style, and is a little more challenging (but fun) because of it.

This grade 3(ish) level piece is one of my favorite Christmas tunes. It’s got mood, a gentle flow, but still has some big dramatic moments. In this tutorial (complete with sheet music), we’ll talk about a simple but effective chord pattern – the 1358 pattern.

Handel’s Messiah is a Christmas staple, and a Baroque classic. This brief analysis looks at the Hallelujah Chorus from Messiah. Note that this is not a sheet music tutorial, but rather a listen-through.
